NCFE Certificate working with Young Children (Early Years) Level 1
The Early Years programme covers 16 units working with children aged one to eight years of age. As with other First Rung programmes, your progress and abilities will be assessed on placement by a vocational assessor who will visit you regularly to monitor your progress towards your qualification.
The skills on this Early Years Level 1 qualification include:
Create a safe environment for children.
Work as part of a team etc.
These skills also include an additional subject of literacy or numeracy.
Students can move on to a Level 2 NCFE in Developing Skills for Young People.
These units include:
Prepare and Maintain the environment to meet children's needs.
Help to keep children safe etc.
Communications Level 1 can be taught alonside this qualification.
