Equality & Diversity
We maintain an inclusive learning environment offering flexible programmes that meet the needs of our learners. First Rung regularly reviews its policies and procedures and provides awareness raising and refresher training to staff annually. All our training programmes cover equality issues and learners develop a sound appreciation of the importance of treating others with respect and dignity. Our Equality and Diversity Action Plan is available on the website. Improving achievement and progression rates for minority ethnic group learners on E2E is a priority.
Accessibility at our Edmonton centre also remains a high priority and we have now relocated in March 2008 enabling far greater inclusion of learners with disabilities within our activities.
