First Rung launches a new campaign to create 100 work placements in 100 days in support of unemployed young people who face an uncertain future due to Covid -19

On Thursday 12th November 2020, London based charity First Rung launched its “100 Placements in 100 Days Pledge” campaign. The “pledge” is a voluntary declaration by businesses and charitable organisations that they will support young people and improve their employment chances by committing to offer a work experience placement.

More than half a million young people in the UK are now unemployed with new data showing that 16 to 24-year-olds have been hardest hit by the impact of Covid-19 on the jobs market.

Young people have been disproportionally affected by the pandemic and now face significant worry and uncertainty about their employment prospects both now and in the future.
