Uphold:

First Rung's Uphold project is aimed at Year 11 students who are at risk of becoming NEET. The programme gives students the opportunity to achieve NVQ or ICT qualifications, acquire a range of Numeracy, Literacy and Employability skills and take part in a work experience placement. The programme aims to re-engage the young people and provide a varied and stimulating learning experience.

Due to the pilots outstanding success it has attracted further funding from Enfield 14-19 Strategy Group to run out of our Edmonton Centre and from Burlington Danes Academy specifically for their pupils out of our Colindale Centre to run from January 2008.

This funding has also extended to run Uphold Lite a short support programme funded by Connexions to run throughout the 6 weeks summer holidays to support young people into the autumn term.

Extensive analysis and evaluation has been made on the pilot and as a result the full programme completely reflects the feedback from students, schools, parents, 14-19 Enfield Strategy Group and staff at First Rung.
